About Aspesi

Aspesi brand was founded in 1969, as D-Camiceria di Alberto Aspesi, by Alberto Aspesi, born in Gallarate, near Varese, Italy. In the very first years of its life, the brand was specialized in men’s shirts production. Few years later, it changed name with Bagarre di Alberto Aspesi, in 1973, extending it production to cover more areas in the fashion market. A new name was given to the company in 1990, called Alberto Aspesi & C., increasing its awareness in the fashion industry as a producer of unisex down jackets with a clean and linear style. Starting from the last years of the 90s, the brand begins a stylistic collaboration with Lawrence Steele. LSD is launched in 1999 as result of this collaboration. “This Is a Door, Here Is a Sea”, an innovative line, is created in 2007, making Aspesi brand more coherent with the on-trend style. As for the brand ownership, Intek company, Aspesi’s owner at that time, sold the brand to Grayling, subsidiary of 2G Investimenti Group in 2003. Tradition, rigor and constant stylistic research are the elements that best exemplify the timeless style of a brand that has written its own story through minimal and sophisticated collections. Aspesi S.p.A, founded in Legnano by Alberto Aspesi in 1969, was born as a company specializing in the production of shirts then emerged themselves as a brand producing casual clothes, known and appreciated for the use of exclusive and avant-garde fabrics. With unconventional spirit and the “no-logo” philosophy, Aspesi is made for clients in search of timeless garments. The constant unorthodox and innovative approach dedicated to the products manifests itself in diverse artistic collaborations, starting with the advertising campaigns for Aspesi that has always chosen photographers who are able to capture and interpret the spirit of the brand. Behind the lens of the Spring-Summer 1988 season, remember Peter Lindbergh who chose the young Linda Evangelista for his shoot in Palm Spring, in California. The duo continued for two more campaigns until 1991, in which the model was the very elegant Christy Turlington, then twenty-two, in the romantic Malibu frame.
