Air fryers are convenient food companions that are easy to clean and maintain. They can be used to prepare various meals. However, just like any other item that requires care and maintenance, so does an air fryer. Cleaning often uncovers hidden faults in the device, which you can easily fix thanks to the extended warranty that comes with the air fryer.

Knowing a few tips on how to clean your air fryer oven will help keep your air fryer functional and in good working order, saving you from nearly all hassles.

How to Clean an Air Fryer

Cleaning the air fryer

  • Food particles can get trapped in places they shouldn’t be in a dirty air fryer, causing problems inside the device. A standard cleaning with dish soap and water will only do so much when removing oil from your air fryer. Even cleaning grime with a homemade baking soda and vinegar combination can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Never use metal tools, steel wool or abrasive sponges to clean the air fryer.
  • To remove burnt or clean the air fryer basket or pan, never use metal tools, steel wool or abrasive sponges. The non-stick coating may be damaged as a result.
  • Unplug the air fryer before starting. Let it cool completely. Remove the air fryer basket from the air fryer and place it on the sink or counter. This will speed up the cooling process.
  • Before starting to clean your air fryer (such as the Acekool Air Fryer FT1), be sure to read the owner’s manual. It will tell you how to properly clean it based on how it was built.

Frying basket

The air fryer basket is the most critical thing to clean. The bottom fryer basket of most air fryers is dishwasher safe. Before putting something in the dishwasher, read the owner’s manual to make sure it’s safe to do so. You may want to soak it in a little dish soap and hot water before wiping with a sponge or soft brush.

Crumb basket

Remove the crumb basket and throw any loose food scraps in the trash. Wipe off with a damp towel.
You can now put it in the dishwasher or hand wash it with dish soap. Please do not use abrasive brushes (such as steel wool) or abrasive cleaners on the crumb basket as it has a non-stick coating.
If you want to hand wash, carefully clean all crevices and the outside and inside of the basket. It may be beneficial to use a dish brush or toothbrush to clean all slats.
Make sure it’s completely dry before putting it back in the air fryer.

Clean the exterior

The outside of the air fryer shouldn’t be too dirty. Even if all the cooking happens inside, it’s a good idea to dust and wipe the outside of your air fryer at least once a week. This will keep bacteria and other contaminants out of the air fryer oven, keep cleaners on the table next to its sink, and keep your air fryer looking like new. All you need for this process is a damp towel. If there is oil or food outside, a little dish soap or all-purpose cleaner may be needed.

Clean the interior

Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely. Add the right amount of water and mix with the baking soda to make a paste. Dip the toothbrush in the baking soda paste to clean the inside of the air fryer. Finally, rinse the toothbrush and use it to rinse off the baking soda paste you just washed. Rinse and dry the air fryer to complete the process.

There are several ways to clean and maintain your favorite air fryer. These modern appliances require regular cleaning and maintenance to ensure their efficiency, longevity and functionality. We hope our quick guide on how to clean your air fryer oven was helpful!
