About XCVI Store

First thing’s first: our clothing isn’t made to be worn on the runway or to be meticulously styled for hours on end. Our clothing isn’t disposable fast-fashion either, and we are not trend obsessed. WE ARE REAL WOMEN WHO WANT CLOTHING FOR REAL LIFE. Our clothes are meant for busy schedules in the face of “I have five places to be in one hour” challenges. They’re clothes to wear to your kid’s soccer game, to a friend’s backyard party, on your trip abroad, or for a day spent antique shopping. Your clothing shouldn’t burden you. It should effortlessly complement your journey through the maze of life. Our clothing is fashion you can LIVE in. Whether you’ve always been a fashionista or you’re just now discovering your sense of style – clothing is an important self-expression tool that connects us to the community around us, and makes us feel good. We hope that by developing wearable, breathable, moveable clothing for women who believe in style and comfort, we may enrich YOUR life with joy and ease. XCVI IS FASHION YOU CAN LIVE IN.Artistic expression has been a passion for Gita Zeltzer throughout her entire professional life. An Israeli born theater actress and director, Gita has always believed that playfulness cultivates joy, that diversity fosters creativity, and that art should be integrated into every human experience. When she moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1989, Gita found a new and dynamic space for her artistic expression – fashion. She began conceptualizing XCVI in the mid-1990s, when she and her husband opened a small fashion boutique on Melrose Avenue. She was inspired by the rich intersection of cultures, but she noticed a lack of range within the casual clothing marketplace. At the time, wearing casual clothing meant having to compromise on style and fit; casual wear was sloppy and stale. The market lacked the sophisticated flair that was found in the rest of the art and design world. Gita envisioned a collection of casual clothing at the intersection of lightheartedness and refined elegance.
