Cancelling Ancestry by Phone

If you wish to unsubscribe by phone, call 1-800-401-3193, the toll-free number for America. The lines are open both on weekdays and over the weekend, from 9 am to 11 pm ET.

Cancelling Ancestry through Email

• You have to send an email to support@ancestry.com
• Give the email title as Service Cancellation
• Provide a basis to cancel the subscription

Cancelling Ancestry Using Your Account Page

• To open your account, click on the top-right corner of the screen

If you purchased your Ancestry subscription via Apple iTunes, Amazon, or Google Play on their official app, you will have to cancel it via the same networks.

Can You Get a Refund When You Cancel Your Free Trial?

You will have to cancel a monthly subscription at least two days before the new billing cycle. You can maintain access to Ancestry’s services if you cancel, until the next renewal date when your subscription is formally terminated. You will not get compensation for a monthly contract, however.

You could be entitled to a refund if you have a subscription that has a billing duration longer than one month. To be considered, within the first 30 days of your subscription period, you must cancel your membership.

Will Your Free Trial Be Auto-Renewed Into a Paid Subscription? 

Yes, Ancestry will start auto-renewing your membership each term once you begin your subscription period.
