About Ledbury Store
Our roots are in the American South, Virginia and New Orleans, but we first met in England in our twenties. It was there, on London’s Jermyn Street, where we worked alongside one of the city’s finest shirtmakers. As a guide and a mentor, he taught us nearly everything that we know about shirtmaking. Before we set off to start Ledbury, he passed down some profound advice:“To be the best, make the best, and the rest will follow. We live by the belief that a few well-made items are better than many that are not. Our goal is to set trend aside and make great-fitting, exceptional quality clothing that can be worn in any setting and by any generation. Over the years we have expanded our collection into a full range of menswear that complements our shirts. In developing new products there is always one simple rule: they must meet the standard we’ve set for our shirts. That commitment led us to century-old Italian textile mills and small European workshops. We work with some of the finest artisans in the world and we proudly tell the stories of our friends who help bring our products to life. In 2015, we revived one of America’s oldest bespoke shirtmakers in our hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Today, we carry on a century-old bespoke tailoring tradition in our Richmond workshop, where our master craftsmen make shirts by hand. Every shirt comes in tailored and classic fit providing a tailored look for any body type. Whether you’re partial to wearing shirts tucked in or untucked, our varying body lengths let you go your own way. Never let another button go astray. Tension threading ensures that they stay fastened for the life of the garment.Keep your collars standing tall under a sweater or sport coat with our canvassed interlining.A lowered second button creates the perfect “V” at the neckline, and prevents the shirt from being buttoned too high or too low. We don’t cut corners. Our fabrics are sourced from many of the world’s finest mills. Over the years we have developed deep relationships with these men and women, who have become not only partners, but also colleagues and friends. Their background and their stories are important to tell. Their stories are the Ledbury story.
